Atari Vintage Games: ST Computers
Overview
Date Range: 1985 - 1992
Atari released the Atari ST in 1985 sporting the powerful 68000 processor at 8 MHz. All models included Midi and 3 channel sound with screen resolutions up to 640 x 400 and as many as 512 colours.
It was also the first computer to come with 1MB of RAM.
Later models sported a 4,096 colour palette, a blitter chip and hardware scrolling meant to better compete against the Amiga computers from Commodore.
The Falcon model included a 68030 processor at 16 Mhz, 65,000 colours and a top resolution of 640x480.
The Atari St computers sold well in Europe where they were popular as music and desktop publishing platforms.

Game Description: The is the sequel to the arcade smash 1942. Once again, you must fight through the clouds during the second world war. The battle takes place just off the coast of the Midway islands.
New features include an energy bar that can be run down by being hit from incoming fire or using a special weapon. The energy bar can be replenished by picking up power-ups. Special weapons include lightning, cyclones and waves.

Game Description: 221 B Baker St. pits up to four players against each other in a race to solve mysteries set in Victorian London. Pick your character as Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson, Irene Adler or Inspector Lestrade.

Game Description: You start your challenge as a motorbike. At first, you are easily vulnerable until the Sega van comes by to provide power ups. The first time you dock you get double fire, the second time gives you a rocket, the third gives a rear force field and the fourth invulnerablility.
There are also letters A-F which you can collect. Collecting A through to D allows you change into a sportscar which is less vunerable to attack, but not as nimble. Collect all of them and you are automatically transformed into a sportscar.
Extra lives are awarded every 10,000. Eventually, as you level-up, you will transform into a high tech plane.

Game Description: Aliens are invading Earth. It is up to you and the Alien Busters to wipe them out and destroy their creator. The Busters consist of Karla, Gordon, and Scooter. Each one of them have their own weapons and special attacks.
When you start the game, select one of these characters. There are six missions to complete with several stages and each mission has you blasting aliens all the way to the end. Each mission has an objective such as rescuing people destroying an UFO.
You will also have to fight alien bosses at the end of some missions. Fail to destroy them and you will not complete the game and then game will end.
You can play Alien Storm by yourself, or with another person.

Game Description: You have been raised from the dead by the god Zeus to rescue his daughter Athena. You have to fight hordes of demons, with a boss at the end of each level until you meet the god Neff who holds the girl captive.
Use your shapeshifting abilities to defeat your foes. In order to shapshift, collect spirit balls by defeating two-headed wolves, allowing you to mutate into different beasts such as a werewolf, a dragon, a tiger, a bear and others depending on the version. Each form comes with special abilities such as flight and powerful attacks.
The game can be played in singleplayer mode, or in same-screen multiplayer co-op mode.

Game Description: Arkanoid is based off the original breakout that is based off of Pong. Arkanoid became a huge hit during the 1980s.
The game's plot really does not fit very well, but that does not matter. The game stands on its own.
Along with the ball bouncing around the screen, hitting the bricks would also cause options to fall that included, but not limited to, longer paddle, laser ball, three balls, catch, free ball, etc.
The game also dramatically improved on the sound effects and use of sound. It is not difficult to lose hours playing this game.
Version 2 of this fine game adds more boards and a few options.

Side quests are also available for pay as well as being able to compete in the arena for more money and prestige.

Game Description: Back to the Future III is a collection of four acts.
In this game series, Marty McFly and Doc Brown are back in 1885. This game takes four scenes from the Hollywood movie Back to the Future III and turns them into arcade sequences:
1) Buckboard Chase: Doc Brown goes horseback riding to save Hill Valley's lovely school teacher Clara. You get.
2) Shooting Gallery: This is a simple aim-and-shoot game with hidden extras and bonus targets.
3) Pie Throwing: Well, it may seem unfair, but it is a lot of fun. The Mad Dog has guns and you have pies, tasty pies.
4) The Train: This act offers fighting sequences. Get rid of the mechanics and collect speed logs to push the engine to a magic 88 mph.

Game Description: Back to the Future II is a collection of five arcade and puzzle games.
Based on the second installment of the popular Hollywood series Back to the Future, this movie conversion has Marty McFly and Doc Brown travel through time to stop their arch-rival Biff from changing the future. The game consists of five parts, each inspired by one of the movie's most memorable scenes:
* Hoverboard Chase: A Paperboy clone without newspapers, but with isometric levels and lots of enemies to dodge.
* Jennifer Rescue: Guide Marty's girlfriend Jennifer out of the house without her meeting one of the four family members. Open and close doors to make the persons go from one room to the next in this top-down puzzle sequence.
* Beat Biff: A side-scrolling beat-em-up sequence in the tradition of Double Dragon. Fight your way through a grim 1985 by jumping, hitting and kicking at Biff's lackeys.
* Band Puzzle: Rearrange the mixed-up parts of an animated picture of the school band in this sliding block puzzle. The clock is ticking.
* Hoverboard Chase 2: Another hoverboard sequence, similar to the first one, only this time set in 1955.

Game Description: Psygnosis' Ballistix is an arcade game in which you have to manipulate a ball in order to score a goal with your opponent. To do this, you will control an arrow that defines a direction, and pressing the fire key will launch a ball from this arrow in the direction the arrow points to; by launching balls at correct angles, you will manipulate the main ball and control the way it moves. Ballistix also keeps certain physics laws (namely gravity and friction), and will present you with varying obstacles in either one or two player mode.

Game Description: This has to be a classic. Battle Chess is responsible for many people who would have never played the game to pick it up.
The game has the same rules as the board game. How it differs is what happens when a piece is taken. Both pieces do battle and with the outcome already determined based on whichever player had their piece captured.
The Amiga platform offered the greatest level of detail due to its extensive colour pallet.

Game Description: Your goal is to find and collect several coloured lamps and bring them back one at a time to a case located in the first room.
Collect several bonuses along the way while fighting off many creatures along the way. The ultimate goal is to bring all the colored lamps back to the case, including the elusive Black Lamp.

Game Description: Blockout is a Tetris clone in 3D. Rotate the blocks in order to fit them into the pit.
Advanced users can play with odd three-dimensional pieces or change the size of the pit for depth of between 6 and 18 piles.
