Atari Lynx Games

Overview

Date Range: 1989 - 1993

The Atari Lynx was the first hand-held colour game device.

It was developed by Epyx before being taken over by Atari due to lack of funds. The machine could display an incredible 4096 colours on a 160 x 120 pixel screen.

There was high demand but Atari could not keep up with demand. And when Sega released the GameGear in1991, it ended Atari's dominance in the colour hand-held market.

Atari pulled the Lynx from the market in 1993.
